GENESIS - Liverpool, England 1975

Working on getting into these guys, the Gabriel era that is. Never been a big fan. It's a process.

I still maintain that Yes, the quintessential (pompous, pretentious etc.) prog band, should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame first -- '80s hit singles, record sales and solo careers be damned.

But it's awfully hard not to groove on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Gabriel's swan song with the group and by most reckonings their finest effort. For your enjoyment, courtesy of our good friends at Viva Les Bootlegs, here's the most acclaimed bootleg from the epic 1975 Lamb tour.

Hello :)

This Liverpool show is probably one of the best to collect from this "Lamb" tour, as it is not only a great soundboard, but is also the full show, including encores (they are often missing from many of the shows circulating) - AND it also contains the "play out" music that played over the PA after the last encore, "Old Man River" (yeh, the old Porgy And Bess tune).

Keep on posting the kickass stuff, have a great weekend :)

I am a longtime Genesis fan. Two totally different bands with Peter Gabriel and without. I enjoy them both ways. Their early classics kick serious butt. Home by the Sea and Second Home by the Sea by the latter era Genesis is a great representation of what they are capable of. Don't forget to check out Steve Hackett who was a guitar player with them from 1970-77. While your at it look up Anthony Phillips, the initial guitar player. I believe he left the band in 1970. Thanks for the quality tunes!
